Value Engineering is our main field of work, but we started working towards this a long time ago.

SCI Value was established in 2013 as a spin-off for the construction cost evaluation activities carried out by SCI S.r.l.

These two companies are owned by a single firm that has been providing the construction industry with servicesfor more than 30 years, from procurement to the Oil & Gas sector. The expertise gained within the industrial sector was transferred and applied to the public procurement sector: businesses interested in applying for tenders to carry out works started turning to SCI S.r.l. for technical and economic feasibility studies, also defining proposed technical improvements and reductions. Over the years, SCI S.r.l. has established a wide network of clients in Italy, strengthening and expanding its business as an industry leader.

The interest in investment funds gives rise to the need for hyper-specialisation.

From 2013 onwards, investment funds and real estate asset management companies began to take an interest in the services offered by SCI S.r.l., motivated by a desire to harmonise their investment costs, given that the growth of the real estate industry is slowing down significantly and that real estate funds are finding that transactions are acquired on the market with very high book values.

SCI S.r.l. has a firm grasp of the situation and is open to the resulting opportunities with a spin-off of its price Estimate and Adequacy activities, assigning this branch of its know-how to the newly established SCI Value S.r.l.

With its Reverse Value Engineering, SCI Value develops and popularises the method, vision and culture of value engineering in Italy.

In order to transfer the value of its services to players in the real estate market, SCI Value S.r.l. aims to promote its services with a bottom-up approach.

Once the potential players have been selected through direct communication and meetings with Asset Managers and Fund Managers, the procedure is outlined, which is useful to understand how key alternative technical solutions can be found within projects aimed at improving the budget considerably before the tender is launched. In certain cases, savings generated through Reverse Value Engineering have made it possible for investments that appeared to be underperforming to get back on track.

Ever since then, SCI Value has been putting forth a complete change of vision; below are the achievements made in the last few years thanks to Reverse Value Engineering.
