AI & Data Intelligence: a strategic project for the operational future of SCI Value

A few weeks ago, we initiated an internal research and development project to explore the potential of artificial intelligence in optimising production processes and enhancing data value. The goal is clear: to understand how this technology can improve operational efficiency, safeguarding the company’s vast informational assets and making them even more accessible.

In a sector where data quality is essential for analysis and strategic decisions, introducing advanced technologies is a necessary evolution to strengthen an already well-established working method.

We aim to integrate artificial intelligence into internal processes, with the goal of improving efficiency and the capacity to interpret data.

Engineer Sesto, CEO of SCI VALUE, explains how the company, always orientated towards maintaining a competitive advantage by using advanced tools and market foresight, is launching an internal project dedicated to artificial intelligence: ‘The aim is to explore the potential of this technology to strengthen our productive capacity while preserving the integrity and value of the informational assets upon which our system is based.’

The proprietary database includes over 500,000 suppliers coded according to geographic homogeneity criteria and classified by type (industry, wholesaler, retailer) across all of Italy. It is connected to around 30 million prices and  represents one of the main strategic assets of the company. Thanks to the adoption of AI solutions, this data will be even more accessible, readable and functional, especially for the analysis and production team.

How artificial intelligence will enhance processes and improve service quality

The integration of artificial intelligence into operational flows represents a strategic evolution for SCI Value. In particular, AI will significantly impact two key areas: the improvement of Reverse Value Engineering® and the strengthening of Project Management and Project Monitoring activities.

1. Reverse Value Engineering®:
The adoption of AI systems in the proprietary RVE® process opens up new possibilities for analysis and optimisation.

  • Intelligent comparative analysis: artificial intelligence is capable of exploring the entire database of materials, technologies and construction solutions, assessing according to multiple criteria, including cost, performance, sustainability and availability. This allows for the identification of more efficient alternatives, improving the cost-benefit ratio for every project.
  • Simulations and design optimisation: thanks to the use of predictive models and advanced simulation tools, it becomes possible to virtually test different design solutions before physically implementing them, reducing error margins and decision times. This approach allows for quick and objective comparison of available alternatives, identifying the most efficient options.
  • Forecasting costs and times: The integration between historical data analysis and market dynamics reading allows AI to develop more reliable cost and time estimates, making the tendering phase more precise and strategic. This approach also contributes to a more targeted and efficient supplier selection, improving the overall planning quality.

2. Project Management and Project Monitoring:
In coordinating assignments, artificial intelligence offers planning and monitoring tools that increase responsiveness and overall vision.

  • Intelligent planning: advanced algorithms allow for the optimisation of activity sequences, resource distribution and management of critical issues. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, AI can reformulate the operational plan in real time, minimising delays and costs.
  • Predictive monitoring: by continuously analysing advancement data, artificial intelligence can identify potential deviations from the planned schedule in advance, allowing action to be taken before they become operational issues.
  • Documentation management: AI allows for the organisation and easy consultation of all project information, from technical drawings to communications, ensuring immediate access to data and operational continuity even in future projects.

The effectiveness of artificial intelligence depends on the quality of the data and the ability to use it consciously. SCI Value starts from a solid and well-structured database, which will be further enhanced through investments in technology and staff training.

The integration of AI will begin with a focused pilot project, useful for testing solutions and evaluating benefits before a wider rollout. At the same time, support from technological partners with experience in real estate will be essential to accelerate the process and fully maximise results.

Artificial intelligence does not replace the SCI Value method – it enhances it. This tool allows us to work in a more precise manner, anticipate issues and offer even more targeted services.
